The world’s most popular game inspires, fascinates and ignites a passion that no other sport in the world can match. Played by hundreds of millions of people around the world it is in fact, the second most popular sport in India. Where children proudly display their skills in school grounds and small grounds mushrooming in Indian cities, at parks, and residential neighborhoods all while wearing the jerseys of their heroes; players like Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Higuain, Suarez, Ibrahimovic and Neymar but sadly none of these wonderful athletes are Indians.
The Youth Champions League is the first step towards changing that, by creating something extraordinary; 12 teams, 540 youth players in 3 divisions of U8, U10 and U12 who will enjoy a first of it’s kind grassroots league where they can participate in a structured playing environment for several months of the year. YCL o ers an introduction to the game of football at a size and scale that meet the needs of the young people playing – smaller goals and smaller pitches. This format allows children to enjoy lots of touches, shots and dribbles with the freedom to make decisions on the field without the weight of performance expectations.
At YCL we have core beliefs that are designed to ensure Everybody Wins, players and football alike.
- The main objective of the league is grassroots player development
- To serve as a competitive platform for players of various age categories.
- Provide players with an opportunity to experience and enjoy football
- Give every player equal game time, a crucial factor to the success of the league
It is in this way we strive to be an active participant of real change for youth football in Bangalore.
